This was our first major overseas trip of 2026 and the second time we’d used Naturalist Journeys who had also arranged our tour of Trinidad and Tobago in 2019. We took the company’s Three Great Lodges tour, which is a 10-day trip based around lodges in the north, east and southern parts of this small country. The report of the tour has been split into three sections describing our time at each of the lodges.
Our time in Belize was very enjoyable thanks to our excellent lead guide James P. Smith and local guides Isaias, Henry, Eduardo, David and Steve Choco. The three lodges were of a very high standard and we really enjoyed the company of the other group participants. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in birding in Central America.
